Title:  Technical Sales Support Specialist

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing the technical support to the sales staff to achieve sales targets and objectives.  This position is responsible for the presales design and delivery of customer focused ICT solutions for existing and potential sales customers.  Liaise with Marketing, Retail, Customer Service and Technical Operations teams to ensure product and service requests are met and/or resolved.

Main Activities
  • Participate in sales activities which include preparing for and conducting technical product demonstrations based on customer requests or technical requirements.  Demonstrations will be tailored to each prospect’s unique business needs
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all products and services to fulfill customer needs for selected accounts
  • Conduct user requirements analysis to match customer telecommunications equipment and services needs
  • Ensure successful sales achievement and customer satisfaction through delivery of the highest quality sales technical support
  • Undertaking tasks requiring technical analysis, diagnosis and problem solving, qualifying the product fit and defining support needs
  • In conjunction with sales team, assist in identifying and steering opportunities for new business development
  • In conjunction with the Customer Service, Marketing and Retail teams, accountable for the planning and training of solutions
  • Conduct technical training on a regular basis for the Sales team
  • In conjunction with the Technical Operation teams,  assist in the design and presentation of data network solutions to the customer
  • Take appropriate actions to communicate and resolve issues
  • Follow escalation procedures as required
  • Provide feedback to management related to product issues
  • Assist in expanding the market share for products
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated written, listening, and verbal communication skills required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years experience in a telecommunications company.
  • Broad knowledge of fiber optical, microwave, switching and wireless technologies and features.
  • Good business understanding and cost modeling ability.
  • Sales training (TAS, SPIN, Signature Selling)
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent listening, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Proven solution delivery capability.
  • Good knowledge of data networks including HDSL, IP Networking, Hubs, Routers, Protocols, Authentication, Interconnection.
  • High MS Word / Excel / Powerpoint ability.
